Data Deletion Instructions
Effective Date: September 2026 • IDATHA AI (Pty) Ltd • South Africa
1. Your Right to Deletion
If you have used the IDATHA agent harness to our service, you may ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. This page explains exactly how to make that request, what gets removed, and how long it takes.
This applies whether you subscribed directly, joined on the free plan, or contacted us through WhatsApp. Full detail on what we process and why is set out in our Privacy Policy.
2. How to Request Deletion
Choose whichever method suits you:
- From your WhatsApp chat — send delete my account to your agent. Deletion is triggered immediately and requires no further approval.
- By email — send a message to privacy@idatha.co.za with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Send it from the email address registered to your account, or from the WhatsApp number on your account, so we can verify the request belongs to you.
- Via the Contact page — use the form at idatha.co.za/contact.html and state clearly that you are requesting data deletion.
There is no charge for a deletion request, and we will never ask you to pay to have your data removed.
3. What Happens Next
Within 5 working days: we confirm by email that we have received your request and are processing it.
Within 30 days: deletion is complete. We send you a final confirmation once it is done.
If you request deletion inside the app, the process starts immediately and you receive the confirmation automatically.
4. What Is Deleted
- Your account record and profile details (name, email address, province)
- Your registered WhatsApp number and its link to our platform
- All agent conversation transcripts and execution histories
- Any documents you uploaded or forwarded to your agent
- Third-party AI provider credentials — the encryption keys protecting them are destroyed, which makes the stored keys permanently unrecoverable
- Billing details, other than records we must retain by law (see below)
5. What We Must Retain
South African law requires us to keep certain records even after an account closes — principally invoices and tax documentation, for the periods required by the Companies Act and SARS.
These retained records are held in a restricted archive accessible only to our accountants, are never used for marketing, profiling or any other purpose, and are deleted once the legal retention period expires.
6. WhatsApp and Meta
When you connect your WhatsApp number to IDATHA, the content of the messages you exchange with the assistant is processed on our servers in South Africa for the sole purpose of generating a reply.
Deleting your IDATHA account stops all such processing and removes your number from our platform. We do not receive or hold your WhatsApp account history, your contact list, or messages you send to anyone other than the IDATHA harness.
Please note: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd keeps its own records relating to your WhatsApp account, governed by Meta's own privacy policy. Those records are not controlled by IDATHA and cannot be deleted by us. To exercise your rights over them, you must contact Meta directly through your WhatsApp account settings.
7. Questions or Complaints
